Where to begin. There are a multitude of issues affecting out education system. The one that comes to mind first is -PARENTS. Strictly speaking from the locations I've taught; many parents aren't taking an active role in their child's education. Meaning, they are not holding their children responsible for their actions. Or in most cases, the lack of action in the classroom. This is not to say that ALL students are on the brink of failing classes; although many are. Failing students are still allowed to have Cell Phones and carry out their daily routine of "He said, she said, they said"; not focusing on the REAL reason students are in school. And that's not to be in a FREE CHILDCARE setting.
